"Competitor" Photoshop Now "Native" in Mac

GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) have long provided in the Mac OS X. However, so far there is a ported version of the Linux version.

The problem with that version is that users need to meet other requirements to run it. Like, for example, installing the X Window System (or the so-called X11).

Well, since GIMP 2.8.2, it is no longer necessary. Open Source applications are quite popular which is now available in native versions. That is, simply download the DMG file from the site and "Throw" to the Applications folder.

In addition to its ease of application, the native version is likely to be much smoother than the previous version due to no longer rely on emulation to run.

The latest version is sized approximately 74MB. Can be downloaded directly from the website GIMP: http://www.gimp.org/downloads/
